Shirley has been involved in the professional audio industry for over twenty years. She got her start in the studio business at "Roade Recording" in Winnipeg. A few years later she joined "Wayne Finucan Productions", an audio and film post production house. Initially hired as a production co ordinator, she quickly moved up the ranks to Manager and ultimately General Manager when the owner decided to move to the west coast. While employed with Finucan's as well as running the day to day activities of the studio, she produced numerous television commercials and a few films and videos.

After running the studio on her own for five years she, along with her husband, audio engineer, John, made an offer to purchase the now 25 year old facility. They became owners in 1991 and changed the name to "Channels Audio & Post Production".

The studio is the mainstay of the recording and film post production scene in Winnipeg. It's been the home of several prominent performers, producers and bands including award winning artists such as; "The Crash Test Dummies", "Fred Penner", "Al Simmons", "Burton Cummings", "Valdy", "Connie Kaldor", "The Wyrd Sisters" "Martha Brooks",
"Finjan" and many more.

On the film side, the studio has worked on many award winning films and animationsincluding "The Diviners", "Lost in The Barrens", "Curse of The Viking Grave", "For Those Who Hunt The Wounded Down", "Nights Below Station Street", "Gimli Hospital", "Inertia", "The Big Snit", "The Cat Came Back" and many more.

Recent television series the studio has edited and mixed include "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes", "My Life As A Dog", "In Fashion", "World's Greatest Spa's", "Head Over Wheels", "Pioneer Quest", and "Quest For The Bay" to name a few.

Many of the projects we have worked on have garnered numerous nominations and awards including Blizzards, Gemini's, Emmy's, Oscar's and have performed very well at international film festivals.

In 1999 Shirley received a Blizzard Award as producer for best music video for "The Wyrd Sisters - Night of Her Insistence".

JOHN SCHRITT

A member of the popular group "Elias, Schritt & Bell" John performed locally in various clubs and toured with such musical acts as; "Valdy," "Leon Redbone," "Juice Newton," "The Pointer Sisters," and "The Little River Band." Elias, Schritt & Bell recorded numerous demos and one album entitled, "Awakening." As well, John was in demand for studio session work as a singer/musician.

John got his start in the studio business in the early eighties at "Roade Recording." A few years later he found full time employment at "Wayne Finucan Productions." Initially employed as an assistant engineer he quickly moved up the ranks to engineering commercials, album projects and audio post production on videos and films.

In 1991, John, together with his wife Shirley, purchased Finucan Productions and changed the name to "Channels Audio & Post Production." The studio is a mainstay of the recording and film post production scene in Winnipeg, with John and Shirley having a wealth of experience. Some of the music projects that John has engineered are: "Walle Larsson," "Fred Penner," "Valdy," "Heather Bishop," "Jacques Lussier," "Rocki Rolletti," "Len Udow," "Connie Kaldor," "Burton Cummings," and "Al Simmons," (Juno Winner), among others.

Film projects include: "Spirit Rider," "Educating the Offender," "The Diviners," "Curse of the Viking Grave,""For Angela,"(Gemini Winner) "Lost in the Barrens,"(Emmy Winner) "Fat Chance," "Harvest," "The True Story of Linda M," "Glimmer of Hope," "For Those Who Hunt the Wounded Down,"(Gemini Winner) and "Nights Below Station Street." For the past few years John has been busy mixing television series: "My Life as a Dog," a Credo/Atlantis production; "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes," a Credo/Forefront production; "World's Greatest Spas," and "In Fashion" for the Women's Televison Network.

He has worked as a foley artist on various films and the television series: "My Life as a Dog" and "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes."
